サラ金配属（前半） Assignment to Consumer Finance (Part 1)
入社が決まり、僕は全国５０店舗ある中の千葉支店に配属された。当時首都圏で３０近くの店舗があり、関西に本社があるこのＫ社は関東に力を入れているようだった。
とりあえず正社員として働くことが初めてだった２５才の僕は緊張して初出社の日を迎えた。
いくら大手ではないと言えども、当時経営が豊かだったサラ金企業、駅近のビルのワンフロアーを占拠していた。
「おはようございます。今日からこちらで働くことになりました鈴木と申します。宜しくお願いします」
まだ若い店長と思われる１番エラそうな男性に挨拶をした。
「ああ、君が今回中途入社した鈴木君ね。近藤マネージャーから話は聞いてるよ。僕は店長の須崎です。よろしく」
と店長と挨拶を交わし店の中に入った。開店準備に追われている貸付を担当する３名の女性とかるく同様の挨拶をし、さらに店長について店の中のさらに奥に．．．
「ここが回収室」
と店長がドアを開けるか開けないかのタイミングで、甲高い普段では聞き慣れない乱暴な怒鳴り声が耳に入ってきた。
「返す返すっていつになったら返すんだよ！おい、聞いてんのかよ！こっちは眠たいとこ朝早くからこうやってお宅に毎日電話してるんだよ！イライラさせるなよ！」
…なんだここは．．．
「前田と言います。ヨロシクね」
年は３０前後だろうか、電話で怒鳴っていた男が打って変わって爽やかに挨拶してきた。
「あっ、鈴木と申します、よろしくお願いします」
僕は少し戸惑いながらも挨拶を返すとその前田のすぐ隣の席の図体のデカイ男が立ち上がり挨拶をしてきた。
「金坂です。よろしくお願いします」
１８０をゆうに超える長身と恰幅のよさはプロレスラーのような印象をもたせた。年齢は僕と同じくらいに見えた。
すかさず１番奥にいた１番年配の男がゆっくりと僕に近づき挨拶してきた。
「大貫です。よろしく」
少し足をひきづっているような感じだった。そして非常に痩せこけて不健康そうに見えたが、実年齢は若そうだった。
僕は中途入社だったため、ロールプレイングのような研修はなく、オンザジョブトレーニング、つまり即実践だった。
教育係にあたってくれたのが、僕の３つ年下で入社２年目のレスラー金坂さんだった。
お店は、貸付や受付を担当する女の子が３人、貸付したお金の回収を担当する男が僕を含めて４人、店長と計８人で運営されていた。
早い話が、女は受付、男は取り立てだった。
After my job offer was finalized, I was assigned to the Chiba branch out of the fifty branches nationwide. At that time, there were almost thirty branches in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and K Company, with its headquarters in Kansai, seemed to be focusing on the Kanto region.
As a 25-year-old new employee working as a full-time employee for the first time, I was nervous on my first day of work.
Although it wasn't a major company, the consumer finance company I worked for was thriving at the time and occupied a whole floor in a building near the station.
"Good morning. My name is Suzuki, and I will be working here starting today. Nice to meet you."
I greeted a young-looking manager, who seemed to be the first in command.
"Oh, you're Suzuki, the new hire. I heard about you from Manager Kondo. I'm Manager Suzaki. Nice to meet you."
After exchanging greetings with the manager, I entered the store. I briefly greeted the three women in charge of lending preparations who were busy preparing for opening, and then followed the store manager to the back of the store...
"This is the collection room."
Just as the manager opened the door, a high-pitched, rough and unfamiliar shout could be heard.
"When are you going to pay back?! Hey, are you listening?! We've been calling your place every morning since we're sleepy! Don't make us frustrated!"
What is this place...
"My name is Maeda. Nice to meet you."
A man around 30 years old, who was yelling on the phone, suddenly greeted me cheerfully.
"Ah, my name is Suzuki. Nice to meet you too."
As soon as I returned the greeting, a big-bodied man sitting next to Maeda stood up and greeted me.
"I'm Kanazaka. Nice to meet you."
His height was over 180 cm, and his physique was like a professional wrestler. He seemed to be about the same age as me.
Immediately, the eldest man sitting in the farthest back approached me slowly and greeted me.
"I'm Onuki. Nice to meet you."
He seemed to be dragging his feet a bit and looked very thin and unhealthy, but he seemed younger than he looked.
Since I was a mid-career hire, there was no role-playing training, and it was on-the-job training, or immediate practice.
The wrestler Kanazaka-san, who was three years younger than me and in his second year of employment, was in charge of training me.
The store was run by a total of eight people, including three women in charge of lending and reception and four men, including me, in charge of debt collection. In short, women handled reception and men handled debt collection.
